Great question! CA weather in October is UNIQUE. Petaluma: will either be warm/hot during the day (75-85, but not humid!) and chillier at night (50). OR chilly during the day and night. Definitely check your weather app - it could really go either way. The welcome party will be indoors. Tomales (where the wedding is): Will be much colder than Petaluma (<65 day, 50 night) because it is closer to the coast. No need to dress for "cold" weather, but definitely bring a warm layer! The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside. Dinner and dancing will be in a heated barn.
Dressy-casual with a western flare. Boots, sundresses, dark denim, button-downs, western accessories. Cowboy hats. This is encouraged, but not required! No need to buy boots or a hat if you don't already own :)
Friday: the welcome party is walkable from Hotel Petaluma (dare I say less than 2 min). Downtown Petaluma is also very walkable. Transportation will not be provided on Friday. Saturday: buses will run pick up from Hotel Petaluma to take everyone to and from the wedding venue. We HIGHLY recommend everyone take this bus -- ubers and cell service in Tomales are very unreliable. If you'd prefer to drive, there is limited parking at the venue. Please reach out to us to let us know if you will be driving.
Please see the "Things To Do" tab :)
Arrival: we recommend arriving to Petaluma by ~5:30pm on Friday, October 24th. Keep in mind SFO and Oakland are at least an hour from Petaluma, depending on traffic. BUT! We welcome you to arrive even earlier to explore the area. There is SO much to see and do in the Bay. Please see the "Things To Do" tab for recommendations Departure: There are no events on Sunday. Feel free to leave at your leisure!
Our guest list has been carefully planned. If your formal invitation specifically mentions a guest or plus one, you are welcome to bring them. Not sure? Feel free to reach out to us directly.
While we adore your little ones, we've chosen to host an adults only wedding celebration. This will allow all our guests to relax, enjoy the evening, and celebrate without the usual kid-friendly constraints. We appreciate your understanding!
