Our story begins in 2016 when we both happened to be the only two single people invited to a bike bar for our friend Katie’s birthday. We met at Mile High spirits, loaded onto the bike bar, drank Nat’s homemade sangria and danced to Isaac’s banger playlists. If you’ve made it to this site and know us both, you can guess what happened next. One hour turned to the next and we were the last two left to shut down the bars bonding over a love of IPA’s and calling each other “sweetie”. The rest is history. A few years into our relationship, we started talking about rings, what our life would be like together and taking that next step. A trip to Maui was planned in the spring with Ben’s family, the scene was set; sunsets and Mai Tai’s, and it seemed too good to be true. And wouldn’t you know it, it was. As we all know by now, COVID is undefeated, and Ben tested positive two days before our trip. We were both crushed; knowing what we missed out on and our engagement was postponed. After 10 days in quarantine we decided to spend a weekend away in Breckenridge. We stopped by our favorite brewery, Outer Range. Ben convinced Natalie to unpack as he had the Air B&B adorned with rose petals and candles lit. Sweet Ben picked out the candles even though he couldn’t smell. Seaglass was the scent of choice and he proposed right there. In our five plus years together we have had so many great experiences. We bought a house in Littleton and got a dog on the same day. We’ve traveled all over including drinking wine in Napa, and finally sunset cruises in Hawaii (Mai Tai’s still taste just as good in October). We’ve built a solid foundation together and can’t wait to see what the future holds as married couple. If you’ve made it this far, congrats! To reward your efforts, we’ll buy you a drink at the wedding. ;) We can’t wait to celebrate with you in October! -Ben and Natalie (The Sweeties)
