The Life of Our Party

The Wedding Website of Nat Locke and Ana Begej
We are not making this wedding happen on our own. We have a wonderful community in Minneapolis and beyond that has helped us build this celebration from the beginning. If you have questions about anything wedding-related, gender-related, or anything really, these folks have got your back (and ours!) We couldn't be more grateful for this spectacular party-planning team.

Abby Colehour

Friend

(she/her) I'm a proud Minnesotan who has been working on life skills in Oregon for the past several years. I'm a catalyst and organizer for social movements, organizations, and large-scale kitchens, and devote my energy to supporting people and projects working to develop meaningful connection with the land and each other. I enjoy meeting life's daily needs creatively and opportunistically with my eclectic toolkit: chainsaw, axe, knitting needles, sewing machine, gardening hand tools, food and herb dehydrator, kitchen implements, pen and paper, and most importantly my hands and heart. I'm taking a break from harvesting wild herbs and restoring oak savannas to head up the kitchen for Nat and Ana's wedding.

Beth Wagner

Friend

(they/them or she/her) Hi! I'm Beth. I met Nat and Ana about five years ago when Ana led me and a bunch of rad young people on a bicycle ride through Minneapolis. Even though I got half of the youth that I was responsible for completely lost on the ride, Ana still found me trustworthy enough to invite me into her home for a potluck jam where I met Nat for the first time. We've been geeking about bikes, music, and adventures ever since. These two are some of my closest chosen family, and it has been so sweet to grow together these past few years. I'm grateful for them in my life and to take part in their celebration of love!

Christine Steinwand

Friend

(they/them) I’m a plant-loving nature kid who loves Harry Potter, mystery novels, and our pups. I’m Robyn’s lucky human, and have subsequently befriended Nat and Ana, two amazing folx who have generously decided to share their big day with us. Yay love! #Hufflepuff

Matt Kazinka

Friend

(he/him) I became buddies with Nat and Ana in their early days as classmates at Macalester, and pretty much every important move I've made in the Cooperative Game of Life for the past decade has been in collaboration with them. I've been lucky to live and travel with them and I consider them two of my best friends. I live in South Minneapolis and work for the organization that supports Lake Street, one of the best parts of the city (I am paid to say that, but it's also true). I'm a bit of a nerd about cities in general and about Minneapolis specifically. If you are visiting from out of town and plan to spend any extra time in the Twin Cities, you're welcome to ask me for advice on what to do and see here!

Olivia LaVecchia

Friend

(she/her) I first met Nat and Ana in Minneapolis in 2014, and I've been lucky to fill the years since with biking, cooking, talking, singing, and traveling together. I spent last year living in Maine and just moved to Vermont, and I'd love to talk about either of those states with you, or talk about Minnesota, or hear about wherever you live. I am also coordinating card games during the wedding weekend!

Rachel Mueller

Friend

(she/her) I’ve known Ana and Nat for nearly 10 years! It all started with music at Macalester College, and continued with lots and lots more music for years afterwards :) I’ll be helping with making the space feel amazing and celebratory—decorating ideas can come to me!

Robyn Char

Friend

(she/her) Hi! I’m a teacher by trade with a passion for nature, theatre, and making music with friends. I’m also the co-parent of two sweet pups I share with my brilliant partner, Christine. I started friend-crushing on Nat and Ana shortly after I moved to the Twin Cities in 2014, when I stumbled across a weekly gathering called Potluck Jams. I’m honored to be officiating this lovefest!

Ruby Levine

Friend

(she/her) I went to college with Nat and Ana and couldn't be happier to see them commit to each other! I'm your go-to person for questions about lodging, fun things to do in Minneapolis, or if you have any questions about how to engage respectfully with people of diverse genders at this event.

Sarah Larsson

Friend

(she/her) I met Nat and Ana as a groupie of the Potluck Jams while they were at Macalester, and their beautiful community was a big part of the reason I later moved back to Minneapolis (they might not know this!) I love folk arts and culture that connects us to each other, and I’ll be helping add music to this joyful ceremony. I usually sing folksongs in languages other than English in my groups The Nightingale Trio and The Lacewings.
