Canadian (and US) Travel

Since this will be the first time to Colombia for almost all the familia and amigos up North, here are some tips:
1. If you don't dust off the passport often, make sure it is valid for the entire trip!
2. Tourist visa applications are not required, however, visitors traveling to Colombia must fill out the "Check-Mig" Form within 72 hrs of the trip. https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/pre-registro/en
3. Upon arrival in Colombia, ask immigration officials if there is a separate line for Canadians. This was the case for me in Bogota previously but not immediately obvious. Also be prepared to pay ~$100 CAD entry fee at immigration (credit card is accepted).
4. Traffic rules are VERY different. If you are renting a vehicle, make sure a confident and capable driver is assigned. If you are taking a taxi or rideshare, buckle up and hold on! As a pedestrian, be aware that you do not have the right of way anywhere.
5. COLOMBIA IS AMAZING, HASTA PRONTO!
