Things To Do

Red River Gorge

Red River Gorge

KY 40387

Looking to check out Kentucky's natural landscapes? The Red River Gorge is a beautiful place to hike, rock climb and trail ride. The river is a little low for kayaking in June, but if interested there is kayaking in the caves that has a longer season. We highly recommend picking your trail on All Trails and downloading a map before you get to the trail head, as the cell service can be spotty. Our favorite trails: Auxier Ridge Trail to Courthouse Rock, Copperas Falls, Natural Bridge and Battleship Rock Trail, Pinch-em Tight to Hanson's Point, Princess Arch

Kentucky Horse Park

Kentucky Horse Park

4089 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511

First time to horse country and looking for a horse experience? The Kentucky Horse Park is packed with museums, barns, horses, and exhibition shows. You'll be able to meet former racing superstars at the Hall of Champions, see breed shows at the Breeds Barn, or checkout the big draft horses at the Big Barn. Want to ride a horse but don't have a lot of experience? No worries! They have horseback riding available to all ability levels! This is truly the ultimate Kentucky horse experience - Adriana's been at least 3 times.

Buffalo Trace Distillery

113 Great Buffalo Trace, Frankfort, KY 40601

What's a trip to Kentucky without a Distillery stop?? While Buffalo Trace is in Frankfurt, about 40 min drive, we promise it's worth the trip. If you want to see the home of Buffalo Trace, Blanton's, EH Taylor and Eagle Rare don't miss your opportunity to head out for a tour of the grounds. Pro top - tour groups usually get special access to purchase bourbon bottles that may be hard to find on the regular market. The tour guides here are super dedicated and know so much about the bourbon industry that it's definitely worth the time. If you're interested in any of the distilleries in June be sure to book in advance as June is a super busy season for these places!

Horse Country

321 Merino Street, Lexington, KY 40508

Want to get more race industry focused with your horse tour? Horse Country is a well run local group that helps groups set up tours of local thoroughbred farms. The tours can either be focused on learning about stallions and the breeding industry, or you can get up close to meet the mares and foals.

VisitLEX Lexington Visitors Center

215 West Main Street, Lexington, KY 40507

Still not finding anything you like? Check out Visit Lex for a list of all different types of things to do in town. There's a calendar page that will continue to get updated with events as we get closer to June!
