Zach and I have worked out at the same gym in Albuquerque for years. Other than the casual noticing of one another from one side of the gym to the other, we had never really spoken to each other. ... On November 21st, 2015, we were both having a Saturday night out at a local bar with friends. A mutual gym friend also happened to be there and introduced us to one another. He was absolutely dumbfounded that we had not formally met before, as we both spent a decent amount of time at the gym. We chatted for a few minutes before my girlfriends and I headed to another bar across the street. Shortly after arriving at the other bar, Zach and his buddies came in. I was waiting in line to grab a drink when Zach approached me, hands me his credit card and cell phone before heading to the bathroom and says, "Order yourself and your friend a drink, and while you're at it, go ahead and put your number in my phone.” Then he walked away! He basically handed 2 of his most tangible lifelines to a complete stranger! I ordered our drinks and when Zach returned, we spent the rest of the night talking and laughing away. ... Fast forward two months and we were in committed relationship. One month later I told Zach, "I love you" for the first time and he quickly responded, "I love you too, Natalie." ... We both knew early on that marriage would be in our future someday, but we wanted to take our time and grow together as a couple. Also, our goal was to purchase a house together first, then get married. On May 3rd, 2019, Zach and I closed on our first home together. One week later on May 9th, I came home from the gym where Zach led me to our master bedroom with our two fur babies, Fiona & Romeo. He had dressed our bed in red rose petals and topped it off with a bottle of our favorite champagne. Smitten by what I thought was a sweet "just because" gesture, I turned around to gush, and found him down on one knee holding a ring box asking, “Will you marry me?"
