Randy and Natalie met at the gym in December of 2016. Natalie was working and Randy had just moved back from Tampa and was working out. After seeing each other a few times, Randy approached Natalie at the front desk to have a conversation. After exchanging numbers and hanging out at a mutual friends’ New Year’s Eve party, Randy asked Natalie out on their first official date. From that moment forward, they were inseparable.

On June 3, 2023, Randy and Natalie decided to kick off her birthday weekend with their first hike on the State Line Lookout path along the Palisades Interstate Parkway. They had spoken about hiking for years but never actually had the chance to do it. Ironically, they chose the more challenging of the paths which turned out to be way more difficult than they expected. After hiking down the mountain for an hour, Randy and Natalie finally reached the bottom. They took a few pictures and a small break before climbing back up. Once they get there, they stop to take in the view when Randy suddenly reaches into his pocket, pulls out a red box, and asks Natalie to marry him. The climb will forever symbolize their journey as a couple as there will be highs, lows, and obstacles to overcome but they'll get through them together.
