We'd be in a state of denial if we didn't acknowledge that as a ripe couple in the prime of our 30's we have a ton of friends with kids. So, for any of our friends and family this applies to, we'd first like to applaud you for knocking out the child rearing early. Strong move. Second, we want to let you know that we don't have a hard no-kids stance. We conducted an intense research poll with a representative sample of our attendees and the overwhelming majority of respondents we're eager to leave their kids mainland or resource a sitter for the event so they could let down their hair and enjoy an evening of love sans the vigilant eye. However, we'll definitely welcome the rugrats if life doesn't unravel that way for you. Just let us know and we'll add them to the VIP list.
Officially, the dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Unofficially, this is a humid tropical zone, so if you have an amazing Hawaiian shirt that compliments your chest fro and matches your pleated khaki's perfectly, let it fly. Just keep it classy. Extra points for coordinated outfits.
We're told there's no such thing as a cold day in Hawaii. You can expect an average temperature in the 70's. In December it could cool off into the 60's in the evening. However, nothing a light jacket or a stiff cocktail won't fix.
Outdoors. Though the reception dinner is under a roof it's an open-air bungalow style venue.
Given the scarcity of uber's and given most people won't want to pull DD for an open bar wedding, we have arranged for a bus to pickup and drop off guests at the Kaleiopapa Convention Center (right next to the Outrigger Kona Resort). Pickup time is 3:00pm. Bus leaves at 3:15 PM sharp. Don't be late! If that option doesn't accommodate your location we recommend arranging a driver in advance.
