How We Met

(in Mitch's words)

Mitch and Natalie were both born and raised in the land of 10,000 Lakes, though their paths did not first cross until their mid-twenties. Mitch graduated from Eden Prairie Highschool in 2011 and received a scholarship to play lacrosse at Georgetown University out in Washington D.C. Mitch graduated from Georgetown in 2015 with a degree in government. Natalie graduated from Brainerd Highschool in 2010 and went on to study Business Administration at the University of North Dakota. Natalie graduated from UND in 2014. After graduating, both Mitch and Natalie eventually made their way back home to Minnesota, and that is where their story begins. In true millennial fashion, Mitch and Natalie were first introduced when they both swiped right on Bumble (a dating app)….. in other words, it was love at first site. After a few days of exchanging messages, Mitch and Natalie decided it would be fun to grab a drink together at the St. Louis Park Staple, Park Tavern. After doing his due diligence via social media and finding himself thinking, “How does a girl like this not have a boyfriend?” Mitch was a bit nervous that he was being catfished. However, upon his arrival, Mitch was pleasantly surprised to find that Natalie was in fact real! The two hit it off instantly and spent the next few hours intensely competing in rounds of pool, darts, and ski-ball, which they still love to do today. When the night came to a close, Mitch attempted to play it cool and awkwardly went in for the “side hug”, which Natalie reluctantly accepted. Luckily for Mitch, there was a date number two and many more thereafter.

The Proposal

It didn’t take long for Mitch and Natalie to know that they had each found their person and after two years of dating, a family trip to Alaska presented Mitch with the perfect opportunity to seal the deal. After consulting with his trusted ring advisor, Brooke (Natalie’s sister), and selecting the right hardware, he was ready to go. To avoid detection, Mitch’s dad, Scott, much like Frodo Baggins, kept the ring safe in his pocket, until the opportune moment arose. On September 3rd, 2019, on the banks of Yakutania Point in Skagway, AK, as the sun began to creep down behind the mountains, Mitch dropped to one knee and popped the question! Check out the video by visiting the URL below. https://vimeo.com/375121993 Natalie obviously said “yes” or you wouldn’t be reading this right now. Fast forward to today and the two couldn’t be happier that they both downloaded Bumble back in 2017. Mitch and Natalie have been together for three years now, and currently reside in Minnetonka, MN with their golden retriever pups Kalli and Cooper. Though Covid has put a large wrinkle in their original plan, they’re looking forward to celebrating with their loved ones, both virtually and in person, on November 7th!
