Luke and I met on December 29th, 2019 up in Big Bear. We actually got set up by his sister Lindsey, brother in law Kevin, and a mutual friend Cindy. I go to church with all of them at Mission Bible Church. They casually invited me to go dirt bike riding with them in November and this was the day Luke and I were supposed to meet. I had no idea he even existed, I didn't even know Lindsey had a brother yet alone 5 siblings. They were trying to make it happen "naturally" without the pressure of us being set up. We didn't end up meeting that day in November because he made a commitment in Big Bear to help shovel the snow off of widows driveways. When they told me this is why he wasn't coming down I was like, wait... who is this guy?! I was definitely intrigued. In December They invited me to go up to Big Bear with them to hang out and play in the snow; also Luke would be there and we would get to meet. So the day came and we drove up to Big Bear and Luke and I met for the first time. From that day on we clicked and our relationship felt natural and easy. We shortly realized that God was showing us that this was the person He had meant for us to spend the rest of our lives with.
I knew early on I was going to marry Natalie. When it came to planning the proposal and finding a ring it was hard to find a jeweler who was open during the COVID19 quarantine. It turned out my Uncle Mike had a jeweler! He opened his store for me and created the perfect ring to give to Natalie, so grateful God opened that door. Trying to keep it a surprise was defiantly not easy, but with the help of Mallorie and Jodi it worked perfectly. My good friend Elijah and soon to be brother in law, Adam, helped me set up a beautiful location to ask if she would take my hand in marriage. The day of the proposal I was so nervous, I knew that Natalie would say yes but I couldn't shake the nerves. Earlier in the day I was with my mom and my sister Lindsey practicing what to say during the proposal, how to hold the ring, and getting on one knee. Then it was time for me to go pick up my beautiful girlfriend and my heart was racing; I had so much on my mind. Then the moment I see her she takes my breath away along with my stress. Nothing else mattered in that moment because I knew that I was with my best friend and the women God created for me. We went out to dinner for our 5 month anniversary and after dinner I had planned to show her where I grew up. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather. The closer we were getting to the proposal spot the more nervous I got. We parked underneath a big oak tree where we had everything set up. Mallorie, Adam, and Kendall were hiding in the bushes to capture our special moment. As we parked under the tree I asked Natalie if she wanted to get out and dance. As we were dancing to our song "Honey Bee" I told her how much I loved her and I got down on one knee, showed her the ring and asked if she would be my wife. I'll never forget hearing Natalie say "Oh my gosh, YES!". My heart was filled with joy and my eyes were filled with tears knowing that I would spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
