We’d recommend typing 524 Main St, Shelbyville, KY 40065 in your GPS; but the directions below should be helpful as well. - From Louisville via US-60 East - The scenic route through horse country — you’re practically already celebrating. Head east on US-60 out of Louisville and just keep going — you’ll pass through some genuinely lovely Kentucky countryside, so enjoy it. As you roll into Shelbyville, US-60 becomes Main Street. It looks exactly like a place where something glamorous is about to happen. - From I-64 — Exit 32 (KY-55) - Fun fact: KY-55 also runs all the way down to Lebanon, KY — but you’re not going there today. US-60 will carry you straight into downtown Shelbyville and become Main Street. 524 Main St — The Gatsby will be on your right. You’re done. Go be glamorous. - From I-64 — Exit 35 (KY-53 / Mount Eden Rd) - Fun fact: This is also the exit for the Candlewood Suites — so if you’re staying with us, you’re basically already a local. Take Exit 35 and turn left onto KY-53 / Mount Eden Rd. Head north and turn left onto US-60, which will wind its way into downtown Shelbyville and become Main Street. 524 Main St — The Gatsby will be on your right. See you inside.
Good news: parking is free, plentiful, and close. Bad news: there is no bad news. On-Street Parking — Main Street — Classic parallel parking right out front. If you can parallel park, this is your moment to shine. Main Street Lot (north side of Main St, near 7th) — A public lot just up the block, tucked in off Main Street. Easy to spot, easy to park. Plaza Lot (south side, between 6th & 7th) — A bit further west but plenty of space. A leisurely one-block walk and you’re there. Henry Clay Lot (Henry Clay St, south of the venue) — Right behind The Gatsby via 6th Street. Arguably the most convenient lot of the bunch — and it sounds distinguished, which fits the occasion. When in doubt, drop a pin on The Gatsby, 524 Main St, Shelbyville, KY 40065 and let your GPS handle the rest.
Please RSVP by May 3rd — that gives us just enough time to finalize the details and make sure your seat (and your plate) is ready for you. Head to the RSVP tab right here on this website to make it official. It only takes a minute, and future-you will be glad you didn’t wait!
We love your people — we really do. But for this one, your invitation is your guest list. If it says “and family,” bring the family. If it lists names, those are your people. If it says “and guest,” bring your favorite plus one. If it’s just your name up there… it’s just you, and we’re so glad you are coming! We carefully planned our guest list with love, and we appreciate you honoring it.
Semi-formal, darling. Think cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, suits, sport coats — basically, look like you showed up to celebrate something special (because you did). This is not the night for jeans, but it’s also not black tie, so leave the tiara at home. Unless it’s a small one. We’re not monsters.
We are registered at Amazon and Target — search for either the bride or groom’s name to find our registries. Practical? Yes. Appreciated enormously? Also yes.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors at The Gatsby, 524 Main St, Shelbyville, KY — a stunning, historic venue that is as gorgeous as it sounds. And yes, it’s June in Kentucky, so we made absolutely sure you’ll be celebrating in beautiful, glorious, blessed air conditioning. You’re welcome.
Plan to arrive with enough time to park, find your seat, and get settled — the ceremony begins at 4:30 PM sharp. We mean it. The music will start, the doors will close, and the magic will begin — right on time. Give yourself a few extra minutes for parking (check the Travel tab or see the Parking FAQ above!) and come ready to celebrate. We can’t wait to see you in your seats!
Yes! The Gatsby has an elevator in the building, so everyone can get to the celebration comfortably.
We kindly — but firmly — ask that you put the phone and camera away for the ceremony. We have a professional photographer capturing every moment so that you don’t have to. Your one job during the ceremony is to be present, maybe cry a little, and enjoy it. The photos will be gorgeous. We promise. Unplugged ceremonies make for better memories and better pictures — everybody wins.
We do! Head over to the Travel tab on this website for all the details on where to rest your head after dancing the night away. There are also several Airbnb rentals near the venue if that’s more your speed.
