We have a room block at the Firebrand Hotel in downtown Whitefish. There are also plenty of awesome Airbnb and Vrbo rentals in the area.
Yes! A shuttle will be available to take you from the Firebrand Hotel in Whitefish to our wedding venue, Paddle Ridge that's located in West Glacier. After the wedding, the shuttle will bring you back to Whitefish. Even if you're not staying at the Firebrand, you're welcome to park there or take an Uber and hop on the shuttle.
Yes, we recommend renting a car to make the most out of your trip. Whitefish and Glacier National Park are best explored with your own transportation. We use Turo or you can rent a car through rental companies at the airport.
No, as of late September, Glacier National Park no longer requires a separate pass to access Going-to-the-Sun road. You will only need a standard park entrance pass, which can be purchased at the West Entrance or online. It's a perfect time to explore, with fewer crowds and the leaves beginning to change!
Late September typically brings beautiful fall weather. Daytime temps are often in the high 60's to low 70's. Evenings and mornings can be much cooler, dipping into the 30's or 40's. We recommend packing layers!
Yes, if you plan to go hiking inside the park, we highly recommend purchasing bear spray. The park is home to both grizzly and black bears. You can purchase spray at various stores in the area including the West Glacier Camp Store located at the west entrance of the park.
