We met unexpectedly at The Hideout after Rodeo Houston. The Hideout is an additional concert, in a dance hall type setup, located in a giant tent outside of Rodeo Houston. We both thought that we were just going out with friends to see Brooks and Dunn that night. Natalie must have thought we were extremely funny or just complete goofballs, because she walked up video taping a couple of guys in my group. Since I had already noticed her walking over, I knew the video taping was going to be my ice breaker. Our initial conversation was surprisingly unforced and easy. After a couple minutes we found ourselves on an extremely packed dance floor, and still leaned in close talking almost the entire time. As the event was ending, I asked her if she and her friend would like to get in our limo bus and head to another place. As we arrived at the next place, we sat down at a bar top talking about all sorts of things that are not normal for that environment, but felt overwhelmingly normal and refreshing for us. We spent the next couple hours telling our stories, laughing, and learning about each other. By the time the night was ending, neither of us wanted to leave one another! We exchanged numbers and spent the rest of the night and next couple of weeks texting back and forth. Oddly enough, we both knew where this was going that very night. We are forever grateful for our chance encounter that turned into such a blessing for both of us.
