Are there any good hotel recommendations?

Answer

Chisago City is a small town. There are some hotels in town or in close-by small towns, but if vacancy is a challenge, please check out nearby towns such as Forest Lake. Additionally, if you are open to cabin camping, there are some great options right in the park where we will be married! Is there a dress code?

Answer

Attire: Classy Comfort. We want you to celebrate in style while staying comfortable! Please wear shoes suitable for walking on grass and gravel. July in Minnesota can be warm and humid, so please plan accordingly. Note: No air conditioning in the Birchwood Chapel

Answer

Food planned will be buffet style, so we anticipate meeting most needs. If there is something uniquely special, please contact us at your convenience.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is parking at the city park; however, walking will be required to get to the chapel and reception hall. If you need mobility assistance, we will have a few parking spots allocated near the reception hall to accommodate.

Will there be fireworks?

Answer

Unfortunately, fireworks are not permitted at the wedding location. However, please see below for some great local options which happen right after the reception! Top Nearby Fireworks Displays (July 4th): Forest Lake: Fireworks at 10:00 p.m. on July 4th, located at Lakeside Memorial Park. North Branch: Located west of the Shops at Gateway North; viewable from surrounding parking lots. Rush City: Fireworks are typically held on July 3rd at East Rush Lake.

For July 4th weekend 2026 near Chisago City, MN, you can enjoy traditional lake celebrations and community markets. Featured Activities & Events Green Lake Boat Parade: On Friday, July 3, 2026, the Green Lake Association will host its annual boat parade starting at 7:00 PM. The lineup begins at the Ojiketa rental dock and follows the north shore into Little Green, concluding at the south landing of Big Green.
