Things To Do and Recs

Whether it’s your first time in Sydney or you’ve visited before, there’s always something fresh to discover - especially during the sunny Aussie summer! Think stunning beaches, coastal walks, iconic sights, and delicious food, all perfect for filling the time between wedding celebrations or turning your trip into a true adventure. ☀️🏖️🦘
Opera Bar

Opera Bar

Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia

Located right on the edge of the Sydney Opera House, Opera Bar offers unbeatable views of the Harbour Bridge and sparkling waters. It’s one of the best—and most affordable—places to take in the harbour. Perfect for a sunny afternoon or a magical evening, it truly captures the best of Sydney’s waterfront vibe.

Pitt Street Mall

Pitt Street Mall

182 Pitt Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia

Right in the heart of the city, Pitt Street Mall is where we go for a bit of retail therapy or just to wander. Whether we're actually shopping or just window shopping, it’s always buzzing with energy.

Manly and Shelly Beach

Manly and Shelly Beach

Manly, NSW, Australia

Just a 10-minute walk from Manly, Shelly Beach is a calm, sheltered spot perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or just relaxing by the water. Manly itself is a beautiful swimming beach with lifeguards, plenty of great cafes and restaurants, and a laid-back coastal vibe. It’s also super easy to get to — just a 20–30 minute ferry ride from Circular Quay, right near the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. It’s one of the best ways to see the harbour and arrive right at the beach.

Tumbalong Park

Tumbalong Park

11 Harbour Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia

We spent every Sunday here when we first started dating, and it quickly became a favourite. There’s a huge playground with a little water area, plus plenty of food nearby — Macca’s, Messina, Pancakes on the Rocks, and more. It’s all part of Darling Harbour, which comes alive on Saturdays with fireworks. Bring a picnic, chill on the ICC lawn, or hop on a Lime bike and explore the waterfront.

Gordons Bay

Gordons Bay

Coogee, NSW 2034, Australia

Gordon’s Bay is our go-to place for a swim — beautiful, and tucked away just enough to feel like a little escape. It has that relaxed, European beach vibe we love, and we’ve spent countless sunny days here. P.S. Goodluck with parking and make sure to take some floaties!

Camp Cove Beach

Camp Cove Beach

NSW 2030, Australia

One of our favourite spots for a quiet swim and a slow afternoon. Camp Cove feels like a little secret — calm water, soft sand, and some of the best views in Sydney. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for a quick dip or just laying back and doing nothing at all.

Terrigal Beach

Terrigal Beach

Central Coast, NSW 2250, Australia

Terrigal isn’t just about the sand (though the beach is great). There’s plenty to do — from swimming and surfing to coastal walks, shopping, and grabbing a drink or bite along the Esplanade. Whether you’re up for a laid-back beach day or something a bit more lively, Terrigal has a bit of everything.
