Question

What does a "black tie encouraged" dress code mean?

Answer

A black-tie encouraged dress code means this is a special occasion where dressing up is highly appreciated, adding to the atmosphere of our wedding celebration. For the Ladies: Formal gowns or chic midi dresses are perfect, in any color except white or cream. Add your own flair with bold hues, rich textures or statement accessories, elegant but with room for personality. For the Gentlemen: While a tuxedo with a bow tie is strongly encouraged, we completely understand if you prefer to wear a dark suit and tie. Feel free to incorporate your personal style and slight variations, but the overall look should be polished and sophisticated.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can celebrate with our closest family and friends, plus ones are reserved only for those guests whose invitations specifically include them. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests arrive at least 15 minutes before the ceremony, by 1:15 PM, to ensure ample time for seating.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, however, we encourage all guests to utilize Uber or Lyft as much as possible. The Church is a short six-minute drive from both hotels. For those wanting to drive themselves: Ceremony at Redemptorist Church - There is a free parking lot on the South side of the church along Broadway Blvd. Reception at Grand Hall - There is a pay to park lot caddy corner to the venue at 1401 Baltimore Ave Kansas City, MO 64105. Alternatively, guests may utilize Valet Parking at both The President Hotel and Hotel Phillips.

Question

What should I do in between the ceremony and cocktail hour?

Answer

Looking to kick off the celebration early? Be sure to visit John's Big Deck (formerly John's Food & Drink). A full list of our favorite restaurants, bars, and fun things to do in the area is coming soon!

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We’d love for you to put your phones and cameras away during the ceremony so you can really enjoy the moment and be present. Don’t worry, we'll have fantastic photographers and videographers capturing everything. Following the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you like!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you can enjoy a fun night out with us!
