Flight
Traverse City is the closest airport to our wedding location (it's about 40 minutes to Northport). This airport is serviced by American, Delta, and United Airlines.
Flight
If you find that flying into Grand Rapids is more affordable or convenient, it's a very doable 2.5 hour drive from Grand Rapids to Traverse City.
Travel Note
Northport is our ceremony and reception location. You'll find all the small-town, northern Michigan staples: a brewery, a great little bakery, ice cream, marina and park/beach, and a surprisingly lovely bowling alley. We plan to enjoy other attractions on the peninsula and in the Traverse City area throughout the week, but we think Northport is a great town to enjoy. Check it out for yourself!
Travel Note
Sutton's Bay is on the eastern coast of the peninsula and is just about 15 minutes from our venue in Northport. It's a walkable coastal village with plenty of places to eat, play, and shop. It's a great halfway point between Traverse City and Northport, if that interests you!
Travel Note
Leland is a small village about 25 minutes northwest of Traverse City and just about 15 minutes from our venue in Northport. The town is on a small piece of land between Lake Leelanau and Lake Michigan. "Fishtown" is its claim to fame, but there's more to enjoy!
Travel Note
Traverse City is about 40 minutes away from our venue in Northport, but it would certainly be a doable city to stay in if it's more desirable or convenient for you. There are many more hotel options, countless things to do in the area, as well as quick access to both the Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas. Note that the area is extremely busy in the summer--driving times (and parking!) may induce a headache (lookin' at you, Alaskans and Yoopers)!
Hotel
The Inn is just a short walk from our venue and is the only hotel in Northport. The Inn only has nine rooms, but we have all of them blocked for the evenings of Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th. About half of the rooms range in price from $155-$180 per night, and the other half from $205-$255 per night (all before 10% discount). It's the only official "hotel," but it's certainly not the only place to stay. Keep reading!
