We didn't know each other until our senior year at SLU, but we knew of each other, mostly because people used to ask if we were related. Our senior spring, we officially met at a mock wedding party set in the 80's. Sporting thrift store finds, we spent the night drinking, dancing, and laughing. The connection was immediate, as were the incest jokes that we received from our friends. Fast forward to graduation, we sat next to each other at the end of the row of C's, holding hands, sweating in the hot sun, terrified and excited for what was to come. We were both unemployed that summer, so we spent most of our time together, becoming best friends, and falling in love. After two years of living in Boston, we moved in together. Our apartment was just over 500 square feet so quarters were tight, but it only brought us closer.
At home in Quissett, MA, Harry suggested we go for a walk before our dinner reservation. He led Natalie out to the Knob, a walking path on the peninsula near her family home, where she found a picnic blanket with a bouquet of roses that matched her dress, and a bottle of champagne. Harry knelt down on one knee as each of our sisters were hiding in the bushes snapping photos, and Natalie finally realized what was happening. We cried happy tears, toasted with champagne and celebrated with immediate family. It was the best day of our lives :)
Woodstock is one of the first places Natalie brought Harry when she invited him home during that first summer after college. She grew up in the tiny town of Norwich, Vermont, and spent countless days in Woodstock with her family. As we've made our own memories in Woodstock it has become a special place for us as a couple. So we knew early on that we wanted to be married in this peaceful little Vermont town, nestled amongst the Green Mountains on a summer day. We cannot tell you how excited we are to celebrate here with our friends and family. It truly means the world to us!
