The story starts when we both applied to be servers at Brick Oven (a local favorite in Provo) and we started on the same day. Brick Oven has a reputation of bringing together many couples over the years and even has a photo wall featuring these lovely relationships. We still can't believe that we became a Brick Oven couple ;) We officially met in our training meeting, where Ethan arrived fashionably late, but we started to become friends through the long shifts of carrying pizzas together. From there, we began to do things outside of work with our friends Courtney and Ryan and got to know each other more as our friendship grew. Ultimately, we both knew that we had found a catch and we went from best friends to boyfriend-and-girlfriend to fiancés. We are so excited to become husband and wife and hope that y'all can celebrate with us!
After a long shift at Brick Oven (my last) Ethan had some pizzas and asked if I wanted to get a coke. I never say no to a coke! So we went to a nearby gas station and got some drinks. Ethan dropped me off to change because we were going to go eat at our "castle" behind the hospital. When he picked me up I notice that he was dressed sooo fancy just to go sit outside and eat pizza, but, I was not expecting a proposal... On the way, riding on Ethan's motorcycle, I was holding all of the pizzas and drinks. I went to adjust my hand and felt the wind catch under one the boxes. Before I knew it I was screaming "I DROPPED THE PIZZA!!!!" Luckily, we had more pizza but that moment is one of our favorite parts of the story! We ate our pizza and Ethan wanted to take pictures of the light reflecting off the small man-made waterfall by the benches. I was tired and complaining that I wanted to go home but Ethan convinced me to take just a few pictures. He told me to go and shine the flashlight on my phone to get a better photo so I went and tried. He came over to "show me the angle that I needed to hold the light" but ended up on one knee asking me to marry him! I was sooooo excited!!! I said yes and almost knocked us into the pond when I went to hug Ethan (which would have been bad since he was still holding the ring)! We rode away on the bike and thus began planning happily ever after:)
