Our story begins in several ways. We first met in high school as two friends scared to actually say how we felt about each other. As time went on and life did as it is prone to doing, we fell out of touch. A chance encounter at Kroger, of all places, would allow us to rekindle our relationship. As fate would have it, we were still the scared kids from high school and our “first date” was just a chance to “catch up as old friends” (Dustin’s words not mine). It didn’t take very long to realize that we weren’t going to stay just friends.
Dustin has always had a profound connection to music so a concert proposal seemed the most fitting. He secretly planned for months with the help of Natalie’s friends (special shout out to Shelby) and family (MVPS Elizabeth and Jennifer) to set this in motion. Dustin got the tickets to see our favorite band, Sleep Token, and had Shelby at the concert in disguise for the soul purpose of taking pictures to document the big moment. During the song “Alkaline”, Dustin got on one knee, and without missing a beat Natalie didn’t even let him ask and after making sure this wasn’t a joke, said yes.
