We're Getting Married!

Natalie and Chris’s love story began in the summer of 2018, in a place alive with the sound of rolling wheels, popping boards, and the energy of endless possibilities—their ordinary job at Vans Skatepark. From Natalie’s very first day on the job, she noticed him. A boy in a black and white striped long-sleeve T-shirt and a beanie walked into the office to pick up his walkie. The moment he said “Hi,” something stirred in her. She couldn’t explain it, but butterflies fluttered in her stomach—just like her father had once told her they should. “No es para ti si no sientes mariposas”—“He’s not for you if you don’t feel the butterflies.” And somehow, Chris didn’t have to do much to make her feel that way. Still, Natalie was too shy to say anything, not knowing that Chris felt the same and was just as nervous around her. It wasn’t until the Fourth of July that fate truly stepped in. That day, Chris confided in their coworkers and friends about his feelings for Natalie. He told them, “One day, I’m going to make her my wife.” It seemed wild to think that the simple "Hi's" and "Bye's" they exchanged in passing had meant something to him too. What began as shared shifts and casual conversations soon blossomed into something more. Their friendship grew deeper, and Chris began to find creative ways to show he cared. He planned scavenger hunts around the skatepark, hiding clues that led Natalie to a locker. Inside, she found a pineapple boba and a note that read, “Date tonight.” From there, the connection only deepened. They began spending nights talking until four in the morning, staring into the stars, and dreaming out loud about the lives they hoped to build. Those late nights weren’t just about conversation—they were about discovery, about realizing they had found something rare and real. Looking back, it’s incredible to think that an ordinary job led Natalie and Chris to the most extraordinary love. What started as chance encounters and quiet admiration grew into something lasting.
