Due to current circumstances, we are cancelling our big September celebration and have decided to get married with an intimate ceremony and start our new life together. Though we wanted to celebrate with you all, our hearts remain full with joy and excitement to be married and we are forever thankful to have such supportive friends and family. They met at UC Berkeley the spring of 2013 and started dating that summer after Chimayo took Natalie on her first Cal hike. They talked about their families, the childhoods, and George Lopez. After Chimayo lost a bet on the NBA finals, he cooked for Natalie a home cooked meal served on his rooftop at sunset. The rest is history. -- Se conocieron en UC Berkeley la primavera de 2013 y comenzamos a salir ese verano después de que Chimayo llevó a Natalie a una caminata por Cal. Hablaron sobre sus familias, la infancia y George López. Después de que Chimayo perdió una apuesta en las finales de la NBA, le preparó a Natalie una comida servida en su terraza al atardecer. Chimayó knew Natalie was his person and so when he began to think about how he would purpose, he knew it had to be perfect. He started by asking for Epifanio's blessing and of course Natalie's dad was thrilled. The day of, Chimayó asked Natalie to catch the sunset with him before a show, and headed to the beach. Little did Natalie know, he had other plans in mind. Chimayó led Natalie to the beach where two palm trees stood tall and there he pointed at a small treasure chest just peaking through the sand. As they began to dig it up, Natalie could not stop smiling. He opens it, inside was a little black box, he kneels down on one knee... And she said yes!!! Family is important to both Natalie and Chimayó so after he proposed and they watched the sunset, he turned her around to her family running towards them! The surprises didn't end there, as Chimayó's parents met them at dinner to celebrate. -- Chimayó sabía que Natalie era su persona, por lo que cuando comenzó a pensar en cómo se propondría, supo que tenía que ser perfecto. Comenzó pidiendo la bendición de Epifanio y, por supuesto, el padre de Natalie estaba emocionado. Familia es muy importante para Natalie y Chimayó, así que después de que él propuso y vieron la puesta de sol, ¡la dio vuelta para ver que su familia corrian hacia ellos! Las sorpresas no terminaron allí, ya que los padres de Chimayó los recibieron en la cena para celebrar.
