Natalie and Benkay met during the first day of Sophomore year at Soquel High School in Mr. Casterson’s Biology class. It all started with Anthony Gooch introducing the “new kid,” Benkay, to Natalie and some friends. From that point on, they became fast friends - joyriding around Santa Cruz, doing donuts at the H&K Berry Farms fields, and running around with their high school friends. They remained friendly throughout college as Natalie ventured down to Santa Barbara and Benkay packed his bags for the City in San Francisco. Consequently, after finishing their schooling at UC Santa Barbara and University of San Francisco, respectively, Natalie ended up moving to San Francisco with big ambitions and Benkay was starting his coaching career. With little knowledge of Natalie’s movements, Benkay looked at his phone one day to see an old but great friend, Jackson, calling: “We’re going to Natalie’s 80’s party,” was the instructions Benkay received. Next thing you know, Benkay is at Natalie’s doorstep and the rest is history! Shout out to Jackson! Since that fateful evening, they fell in love and eventually moved in together in the Laurel Heights area of San Francisco and adopted their sweet, but sometimes vicious cat named Uni. Natalie has learned to love soccer (or should we say football?) and Benkay has learned to walk on the wild side (or should we say jaywalk!). Natalie and Benkay are both so thankful for each other and the support of their families and friends. Natalie and Benkay can’t wait to get married, go on more adventures, share more fabulous meals, and start a family together.
