Pedro and Natalie met about 8 years ago as little freshmen in college. Pedro was a long way from home (California), while Natalie was in her home state (Minnesota). Throughout the years the two grew closer, they would grab lunch in the cafeteria a couple times a week, and go out together on the weekends. Eventually, Pedro went on a study abroad trip for 4 months and they literally talked everyday. Everyone on his trip would ask if the two of them were dating and Natalie’s roommates were like who are you always talking to. Their answers were always “we’re best friends!” Shortly after, it was the summer before senior year of college, and Natalie had an internship in Washington DC, while Pedro was back home in Los Angeles. One night Pedro was grabbing drinks with his high school friends and one person asked who he was constantly texting. He was like “oh it’s my best friend, nat.” And they responded, “that’s not your best friend, you like her.” Pedro called Natalie up after that and told her, he liked her and she said, “yeah me too!” Pedro was already planning to go and visit Natalie in DC and when he arrived he asked her to be his girlfriend. (Obviously she said YES). After graduating college, Natalie took a job abroad and they were going to be apart for about a year. Long distance was the true test and when Pedro visited Natalie there, their love only grew stronger. After returning from Japan, Natalie took another leap of faith, which Pedro wholeheartedly supported and she started her master’s degree in Honolulu, Hawaii. Pedro visited every so often and fell in love with the island. Last summer, Pedro took an extended trip there and proposed!! And the rest is history …
