On August 29th, 2015 Jack and I were both a part of a wedding party for mutual friends. We spent most of the day running around, enjoying the festivities, but never speaking to each other. While both of us had noticed each other, neither of us had the guts to make the first move. It's no surprise that by the end of the night, after a few hours of dancing and a little liquid courage, that sparks started to fly. It was a very unexpected and wonderful surprise beginning to our story :)

The day Jack proposed, I believed that we were focusing on him. He had just finished his first season at his new job and we were going to go to lunch and a movie to celebrate. At the last minute he wanted me to choose the restaurant and movie and I kept saying "No, today is about you. You get to pick everything!" We ate, saw a movie, did a little shopping at the mall and then made our way back home. Let me start off with saying that I was completely oblivious of what was about to happen. As I was fumbling with our shopping bags and getting out of the car I hear Jack say "Hey Nat, today is an important day." and I respond nonchalantly with "Why?". I turn around and see Jack in our front yard down on one knee, "Because today is the day I ask you to be my wife." I freeze. In shock that this moment I had been thinking about forever was actually happening. I look around and see my friend Erin peeking around the side of the house with a camera, and our Moms appear out the front door. I have no idea how long I stood there in shock, but eventually I hear Jack say "Nat, I need an answer..." Once I come back to reality I say "YES!" and we walk inside to our awaiting families.
