Ethan started coming to Peniel when he was about 13 and I was 10! One day during a church meal my mama asked Ethan if he would wait on me until I got older and date me! He politely said yes and we never gave it much thought! Well 4 years later he went to a Georgia football game with some friends and family of ours and we started texting that night and the rest is history! We started dating in 2012 and have been together ever since! Not many girls get to call their first love their only love! The Lord has blessed us so abundantly I don't see how it could get much better! We are both so thankful.

Our first date was the Valentines Day after I turned 16! Ethan had a big night planned. He took me to California Dreaming in Greenville and the wait was FOREVER long. Nevermind the fact that I was SO nervous and so was he! We waited and waited and I finally told him if he wanted to go somewhere else we could, I secretly was hoping he would say ok because we were both way out of our comfort zone. I said I’d be perfectly fine with Chick-Fil-A. But not the one in Greenville, it had to be the one in Boiling Springs! He couldn't say yes any faster. So off we went to Boiling Springs and we splurged and got two large meals and a bag of cookies. Chick Fil A will forever have a special place in our heart!!

It all started with plans to go to Ethan’s house and clean up because we were having our families over the next night for dinner. When he picked me up he said we had to go to a place in Tryon and take some pictures of the HVAC for his work. I didn’t question that because it wasn’t anything new but I was kinda wondering what in the world! I had been dying for a ring for awhile but we had decided to wait until the end of 2019 before we moved in that direction. However, I don't do well with surprises so I am always on the watch for something out of the ordinary. Well when we got to the destination there was actually something wrong with one of the units so then I was really convinced we were there for work. We were walking around the property admiring its beauty and I turn around and bam! He was on one knee!! What!?! I was in a bit of shock and had trouble understanding that my dream was finally coming true! He then proceeded to ask me to forever be his always and of course I happily said yes!!! How could I not!? He surprised me with the most beautiful ring that I had been eyeing! Plus, he waited until my nails were freshly done, that is when you know you've got a keeper!
