Ventura’s Historic Downtown Cultural District is permeated by early California history. Historic homes, museums, boutiques, Mission San Buenaventura, antique shops and restaurants adorn our palm tree-lined streets. Things are also continually changing in this historic district. Recent street closures make for a lovely walkable downtown to new shops, restaurants, art galleries, and live music venues.
The Ventura Harbor Village is a vibrant, seaside attraction boasting 35 seaside boutiques, art galleries, and waterfront restaurants, plus entertainment venues, events, harbor boat tours, rentals, and more! Situated between the boats and the beach, Ventura Harbor Village is home to the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center and is one of the largest offloading harbors for squid.
Admission is Free for 2022 and the museum is very kid friendly! The Museum of Ventura County celebrates, preserves and interprets the art, history and culture of Ventura County, its collections, exhibitions, and events, and serves as a gathering place for the community.
