Our story began at a baptism celebration—just a normal day surrounded by family, friends, and music. At some point during the night, George walked up and asked if I wanted to dance. I said yes, and something about that moment felt unexpectedly natural, like we’d known each other longer than we actually had. Earlier that day at Thanksgiving dinner, someone was talking about how he saw a girl and immediately knew he wanted to talk to her. I remember saying, “I wish something like that would happen to me.” I didn’t realize my moment was coming that same night. What I didn’t know then was that George had noticed me over the years, but the timing never seemed right. That night, he finally decided to take a chance.
