In February, Cartagena is warm with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 31°C (75°F to 88°F). It's the dry season, so expect sunny skies. The high humidity levels make it feel warmer, but the coastal breeze provides some relief from the heat, especially in the afternoons and evenings.
Cartagena is a city full of life, with its streets bustling from morning to night. During the day, you’ll hear the sounds of local vendors, street performers, and the rhythm of the city. As the sun sets, Cartagena’s vibrant nightlife takes over, with music, laughter, and celebrations filling the air, especially in the Old City.
1) Everything in the old city is within walking distance, and you can easily take taxis to get around without needing to rent a car. (For locals, a taxi from the airport to the old city costs 15000 COP. If you are a tourist, it might cost a maximum of 30000 COP, so keep this in mind when negotiating prices with your taxi driver.) 2) Many places in Cartagena accept credit cards.
