Grandfather Mountain is a place of amazing biodiversity and scenic beauty that towers 5,946 feet above northwest North Carolina. A part of the United Nations’ Southern Appalachian Biosphere Reserve, the mountain is estimated to be 300 million years old — with certain rock formations dating back 1.2 billion years.

Grandfather Mountain State Park

Beautiful place to relax by the lake. We like to hang our hammocks out here and relax. If you're coming from Tennessee to the venue, you will drive right past this!

Watauga Point Recreational Area

This is where we had our engagement photos! It's a short hike to the top for some absolutely breathtaking views of Tennessee and North Carolina.

Roan Mountain State Park

This is where he popped the question! We spent our second date here, so it was a nostalgic spot. There is a short walk / hike up some stairs to the top of the rock.
