Our Story

First comes school, then comes marriage

We met our Freshman year of college when we were living in the same dorm, I was on the first floor and Austin on the second. The laundry room was right across the hall from my dorm room so Austin would walk by every time he did laundry. One night my roommate had fallen asleep in the laundry room so Austin stopped by my room to tell me. From then on we became close friends which eventually turned into something more. We had been together for 3 years when we graduated college. Austin was planning on going to work while I was accepted to graduate school in California and when I told Austin I had been accepted his first words were, “So when are we moving?” It was in that moment I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

The Proposal

It all worked out in the end

So this did not go according to plan. Austin had planned a hike with some of our friends and their dogs at a nature reserve but when we arrived we found out, dogs were not allowed on the trails. At that point everyone, except for me, was panicking trying to find another location to go hiking. We ended up walking a trail along the river and halfway through Austin got down on one knee and of course I said “Yes!”.
