If you've ever watched an episode of Grey's Anatomy, then you know that the nurse and doctor connection is real. Danielle had been a nurse for 2 years at The University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital. In October of 2016, Michael was only a few months into his pediatric residency program at Comer. He would walk by Danielle's desk daily as the Physical Therapy office was down the hall. Michael had seen Danielle numerous times while working with mutual patients. Danielle and Michael left for a nice morning walk down to the iconic South Haven Lighthouse. Michael was extremely nervous and per Danielle said "beautiful day today huh?" five separate times in the short 15 minute walk. He was nervous but for good reason. In his pocket sat the ring that would change both of their lives for the better. Once at the end of the pier, without hesitation, Michael knelt to one knee and asked Danielle to make him the happiest man in the world. She of course said yes which has led us to 8.30.20...
