In the Spring of 2018, while Esteban was completing his master's program and Nasthalia was finishing off her second year of graduate school, they decided to rejoin the dating world. Like any millennial, they both joined a dating app as a way to meet new and interesting people, in hopes of finding a potential partner. Even after many unsuccessful dates and countless conversations with others, they kept swiping and eventually matched. After several days of messaging on the app they decided to exchange phone numbers and one Friday afternoon, Esteban surprised Nasthalia with a phone call. That first call lasted 6 hours in which they discussed everything from past relationships to childhood memories. From that point on, a connection was formed. The very next day, Esteban asked Nasthalia on their first date to the Havana Cafe in NYC. During which Esteban expressed that he was dating to find his future wife. Little did they both know that their first date would turn into many more and eventually they’d commit themselves to each other to become life partners.
