Our story began at Dear Maud, where we were introduced through mutual friends. Jen had managed to sneak into an open bar, and Niko had already had a few drinks. After the third time Niko asked Jen what she did for a living, she probably should have been annoyed—but instead, she found it endearing and couldn’t help but be drawn to him for the rest of the night. It was Niko’s first night out in a while and Jen’s first few weeks living in Hoboken—proof that somehow, our paths were meant to cross. From there, we bar-hopped and danced our way through the night, ending the night with pizza and Niko proudly showing off his WWE moves. What started as a fun, spontaneous night quickly became something we could have never imagined. From that day on, we were inseparable, spending nearly every day together. Just six months later, we moved in—something that may have seemed fast to others, but felt completely natural to us. After all, we had already talked about building a life together on our very first date. It was an instant, undeniable connection. In fact, right after that first night, Jen texted everyone she knew saying she was going to marry Niko—and somehow, she just knew. Nearly three years later, Niko proposed, creating one of the most meaningful and unforgettable days of our lives.
