Places to Eat

People usually recommend “things to do” - but chances are, you already know the highlights! Instead, we’re sharing some of our favorite places to eat around the city.

Cheap Eat: Xi'an Famous Foods 西安名吃

NY

It's a chain worth trying - there are multiple locations. Our go-tos are the cumin lamb sandwich or lamb noodles.

Cheap Eat: The Kati Roll Company

99 MacDougal Street, New York, NY 10012

Has multiple locations. Good cheap eat for some Indian!

Chinese: Mountain House

23 Saint Marks Place, New York, NY 10003

Has multiple locations. Beware - this place is Szechuan so it is spicy! This is a great mid-range place, but you may need a reservation/wait in line for a bit. Our favorite items are the "fish in sour cabbage soup" + "la-zi chicken".

Ramen: Karazishi Botan

255 Smith Street, Carroll Gardens, NY 11231

Thai: Fish Cheeks

55 Bond Street, New York, NY 10012

Thai restaurant that only serves seafood basically! Might be better to make a reservation ahead of time or else you may need to wait in line for a bit.

Georgian: Chama Mama

121 Montague Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201

Has multiple locations. Good mid-range place for Georgian cuisine. Would recommend getting a khachapuri.

Sushi/Handrolls: KazuNori

15 West 28th Street, New York, NY 10001

Has multiple locations. And they're open late! There are no reservations, you just show up and wait in line. Line goes faster than you would think.

Around the Venue: Rule of Thirds

171 Banker Street, Greenpoint, NY 11222

Never disliked anything I had here - especially like the brunch!
