ALB - Albany International Airport

Albany International (I think they go to Canada? 😅) is the closest airport to the wedding venue with connecting flights from major hubs. It’s smaller and easy to navigate, but doesn’t fly direct to most west coast destinations.

NYC & Boston Airports

If you want to fly direct or make a trip out your visit, NYC airports JFK and La Guardia (LGA) offer less expensive flights along with Boston Logan International (BOS). Boston and NYC are about 3 hours by car or bus to the Albany area and Amtrak trains run several times a day from Penn Station in Manhattan to Albany/Rensselaer station in about 2.5 hours.

Nash and I call Troy home and we love our little city! This hotel is right in the action of downtown Troy on the riverfront. It’s close to lots of cute bars, restaurants, and historic architecture. Just under 30 minutes to the wedding venue by car and about 15 minutes from ALB airport. We will grab a beer in Troy on Friday night with anyone who would be able to make it! This is one of the closest major hotels to the wedding venue and is just a quick hop from the airport. This area offers a more suburban vibe and the rooms tend to be a bit more affordable. Thompson's Lake Campground

Feeling more outdoorsy? Thatcher Park, an upstate NY gem, offers camping on Thompson Lake! Bathrooms and showers are available, but electric is not, so plan accordingly. 15-20 minute drive to the venue and about 40 minutes to ALB airport. (These sites are bring -your-own tent and sleeping bags camping, not traditional hotels or cabins.)
