Stevan and Naomi were first introduced by their sisters during their college winter break. Stevan's sister had invited Naomi and her sister over to join the family in their Christmas tradition of making tamales. Little did they know, that following year Naomi would join them again as Stevan's girlfriend.

Stevan asked Naomi out for their first date in a Culver's parking lot after hanging out with some friends from church. One week later he asked her to make it official and they committed to dating long-distance for the remainder of their college careers. Somehow this idea didn't sound crazy to them.

The day after Stevan returned home for Thanksgiving break he went over to see Naomi only for her to realize that there was a day long scavenger hunt ahead. After hours of driving down memory lane (literally), Naomi got the hint. Stevan finally got down on one knee in front of the white tank mountains where he had spent all morning setting up with the help of friends and family.
