Melse is a traditional Ethiopian/Eritrean post wedding celebration held days after the main wedding ceremony. It symbolizes the couple’s return to the family home as one, and is an intimate gathering where close friends and family come together to celebrate the newlyweds in traditional cultural attire and customs.
