First Connection

Jimmy Bufett introduced us... sort of

Naomi and Kramer both went to Middle and High School at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma. In the 7th grade, Kramer decided to participate in the talent show, singing none other than Jimmy Bufett's "Cheeseburger in Paradise". While Kramer and Naomi didn't actually meet until years later, Naomi still remembers, as she says, the "funny boy singing about hamburgers." Naomi also thought he stood out, because all the students who sang did it to look “cool”, but Kramer did it solely because he loved to sing.

How We Met

The dog knew…

We met on a dating app called Hinge. Naomi liked that Kramer's profile had a picture of him with his grandmother and thought it was sweet and unique. We connected and sent messages back and forth every day for two weeks before we finally met in person at the Fort Steilacoom dog park. Kramer knew something was special about Naomi. He could tell right away she has a kind and gentle spirit. Naomi also knew something was special about Kramer because he was the first guy to pay attention to ( and be liked by ) her Beagle Ellie. Ellie brought them all together in more ways than one. Naomi met Kramer's parents when they were called to help retrieve Ellie from the fields at the Canfield farm after she got loose one day following her nose. We quickly felt right at home with each other, and our playful easy connection grew into a deep love.
