Where will the wedding & Reception be held?
Answer
Both the ceremony and the reception will be held indoors at the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse. 7277 River Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 1X5
Question
What's the dress code?
Answer
Semi-formal attire is recommended. So far they are calling for rain on the 9th! The wedding and reception will be held indoors but please dress accordingly.

Can we bring a plus 1?
Answer
Unfortunately no. If their name isn't on the list to RSVP they may not accompany you to the wedding.
Question
What time does the ceremony start?
Answer
The ceremony will start at 430 pm and the reception will go until 12 am.

Will there be activities for the kids?
Answer
Yes! There will be a little activity pack at each child's seat at the table to keep them occupied! The venue runs along the dyke so if the weather is nice bubbles will also be available. There is also a small play structure to occupy your little ones near the venue.

Where can I park?
Answer
There is street parking and parking along the dyke. Parking is available on both sides of River Road.The 3 Hour Parking signs do not apply during the wedding. ( so you can park there) Do not park in the adjacent business parking lots as you will be towed! No vehicles are to be parked on the dike path in front of the UBC Boathouse at any time.

Can we leave vehicles at the venue overnight?
Answer
No vehicle may be left on the dikeway. The boathouse guarantees no towing in the 3 Hour Parking spots during the event, but any car that is parked there past 12 am is done at your own risk. Please plan transportation accordingly if you are planning on drinking.

What time should I arrive for the wedding?
Answer
Please arrive at the UBC boathouse no later than 4:15, the ceremony will begin at 4:30.

What are the order of events?
Answer
4:15 pm Guest arrival 4:30 pm 20 minute Ceremony Guests leave the room so staff can configure chairs and tables for the reception. (Should take 10-15 minutes) There is a patio at the back of the venue by the washrooms. 5:15/5:30 pm Room opens for Cocktail Hour 6:30 pm Dinner 7:30 pm Speeches 8:00pm Dances 8:15 pm Dance floor opens 10:00 pm Late night snack served 11:00 pm Last call for drinks 12:00 Farewell!

You don't have a wedding registry... Can I write a check?

Yes absolutely if you're feeling generous! Please address it to Jordan Hancock or Naomi Berkeveld. Naomi won't have her name changed and if it's made out to Jordan and Naomi Hancock they won't be able to cash it. Thanks!

Where can I smoke?
Answer
Smoking is permitted only on street level (the gravel shoulder along River Road) and a 25 metre distance away from the playground.

Where can I sit during the ceremony?
Answer
Please pick any side to sit on during the ceremony! Please do NOT sit on chairs that are marked for specific people or the front row chairs that are marked for immediate family! There will be ushers to ask if need be :) Thank you!!

Where will I be seated for dinner?
Answer
There will be a seating chart where you can find your table number. Please choose any seat at that table as there are no specific seating arrangements!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?
Answer
No Thank you! We ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony as we have a photographer for that. Please take photos during cocktail hour and the reception! There will be a QR code to upload any photos you take throughout the night on your table :)

What's the bar situation?
Answer
We will be having a toonie bar and there will be tickets should you want to purchase more drink tickets at a time!

Can we still book a room at the River Rock?
Answer
Unfortunately no. The River Rock no longer has any vacancy for November 9th 2024. Thankfully there are other hotels to choose from in Richmond!
