We first met in October 2016. Branden was working on the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign and Naomi was finishing up at the University of Michigan. Through a mutual friend, Shavon, Naomi and Branden were introduced because of their interest in politics and passion for creating a better country. The two then reconnected in December 2016 at their friend Shavon's birthday party, which was the start of three and a half years of seeing each other on and off again, always remaining casual and friendly. As time passed, Naomi moved to Washington DC and Branden stayed in Detroit doing organizing work across the city. Until, one day in October 2019 Branden was asked to attend a work conference in DC and decided to see if Naomi was available for dinner, and she was! From October 2019 through January 2020, Branden traveled to Washington DC each month to visit Naomi. They spent Valentine's Day 2020 in New York City as friends, although it was quite obvious they were much more. By, March 2020 neither one would have expected that a global pandemic would have cemented their love. Naomi came back to Detroit to be with her family during the uncertain times of early COVID, and she and Branden became an official couple. Since then, Naomi and Branden have spent their relationship building a mosaic of shared memories across the world with family, friends, and of course Khey$ha and Gigi.
