Castle at Borgo Petrognano

This is the web link to the Castle we reserved for the wedding event. It’s for info purposes only. We booked direct because they only advertise on Airbnb (Airbnb cancel policy is too lenient for them). It's to provide you with some pictures of where our wedding event will take place.

Driving from Florence Airport to Castle Borgo

Florence is the closest airport but Milan is bigger with more flights. From Milan Malpensa it’s about a 3.5 hour drive (which is beautiful). From Florence airport it’s about 30mins. Driving from Florence Airport:  Take the A1 Highway direction South (Rome). Leave the Highway at the exit Impruneta (also called Certosa). At the traffic circle take the first exit following signs to Siena so you will drive on a small highway. Leave this Highway on exit San Donato. At this point, continue to drive following the signs to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. When you arrive in Tavarnelle, start to follow signals to Barberino Val d'Elsa. Pass through the small village of Barberino and go towards Poggibonsi but as soon as you leave Barberino at the first crossing turn right and follow signs to PETROGNANO! Drive straight always, at a point the road goes down and immediately when it starts to go up again, on your left you'll find a big gate (Number 1 of Via di Petrognano) - that is the entry of the villa.

Driving from Rome Airport to Castle Borgo

Driving from Rome Airport Head northwest then turn left to merge onto Roma – Fiumicino. Take the Rome – Fiumicino airport for about 7 km and exit at Aurelia. After about 40 km, take the exit for the E35 in the direction of Florence. Exit Valdichiana towards Sinalunga and once at the roundabout take the first exit onto SS327. Take the first exit at junction Siena Sinalunga and continue on the SS326 for about 30 miles and take the exit Firenze. Poggibonsi Nord exit and follow the signs for Barberino Val d’Elsa. Turn left and follow to Petrognano until you find the Borgo.

Driving from Pisa Airport to Castle Borgo

Driving From Pisa Airport:  Take the Fi-Pi-Li Highway towards Florence but leave that highway at the first exit of Empoli. At the roundabout take the first exit and follow signs to Poggibonsi. Before arriving in Poggibonsi you will find an area called Zambra (between Certaldo and Poggibonsi), here at the crossing you have to turn on left and follow signals to Petrognano. When you arrive in Petrognano, after a few meters on your right you'll find a big gate that is the entrance to the villa.

Italy's Equivalent of the "Uber" App

Download this App for taxi services. Similar to Uber but for Italy. We highly recommend renting a car, as it is the most convenient option in terms of both cost and flexibility. For your information, Borgo Petrognano also has an electric charging station available. From the airports, taxi services are available until about half an hour after the latest flight arrival.
