Dado & Nancy met in college at PSBA-QC in June 1985. Dado was that guy who always had plain white shirt on, ripped jeans, converse & bandana hanging on his back pocket. He's always late to class so you'd hear the teacher yell "Mr. Yap! You're late again!"....that's how Nancy started noticing him. Dado would always come up to Nancy to tell her "the joke of the day" so they easily became friends. Neither one of them knew that it would develop into something else because Nancy had a boyfriend then. But Nancy really liked hanging out with Dado because he always made her laugh. After a year, Dado transferred to nursing school while Nancy stayed at PSBA. Since they had common friends, they reconnected years later. That time, Nancy was already "single & available" so Dado started visiting Nancy & would bring her "Tropical Hut" hamburgers. They enjoyed more time together. One day, Dado handed Nancy a love note. Nancy was very impressed because it's 100% Tagalog! It's different from all the other ones she received before (Dado admitted that he struggled in English then so he just wrote everything in Tagalog...LOL!). But that letter was confusing because in the end it said: "Mahal kita, sorry di na mauulit". What the heck does that mean? Ask Dado. Fast forward...they ended up together, but it only lasted for a few months (why? quite a long story). Dado eventually migrated to the U.S. while Nancy started working at BPI Family Bank. She did a lot of group dating but none of those worked out because Nancy was still thinking of Dado the whole time. She prayed for a sign that if she gets to see Dado again, he would give her a gift that's really meant for her. After 5 1/2 years, Dado suddenly showed up at Nancy's workplace & gave her a gift - an Angel pin w/ her birthstone. That's the sign! And so 25 years & 3 wonderful daughters later, they remain happy together. May God continue to bless them & their family with love, peace, harmony, & more fun-filled memories.
