Brandywine River Museum of Art
The Brandywine River Museum of Art is well-known for its Wyeth family collection, among other American artists. Definitely worth checking out, and the museum has a great cafe.
Longwood Gardens
Known as one of the world's greatest gardens, consisting of gardens, woodlands, meadows, and spectacular fountains. Absolutely worth the trip!
Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library
The premiere museum for American decorative arts, housing over 90,000 objects from 1640-1860. An American estate/museum that houses an important collection of Americana - former home of Henry Francis Du Pont, an avid collector of antiques and an enthusiastic horticulturist.

For those who like old stuff :) The Brandywine River Antiques Market hosts over 40 vendors of textiles, furniture, toys etc. You'll also find the Mushroom Cafe for a post antiquing snack.
