🌿 What to Wear: Rustic Garden Attire We can’t wait to celebrate with you! To help you dress for a beautiful day and a comfortable night outside here is our style guide: The Color Palette We invite you to join us in a blue-inspired spectrum. Think dusty blue, slate, French blue, or deep navy. Floral prints and seasonal textures like velvet or jacquard are also encouraged! For the Ladies Style Options: We recommend midi or maxi dresses, high-low hemlines, or chic jumpsuits. The "Hay" Factor: Since our main seating will be hay bales, longer lengths are much more comfortable (and less itchy!) for sitting. Fabric Choice: To avoid snags on the hay, we suggest sturdier fabrics like satin, crepe, or high-quality cotton rather than delicate lace or thin silk. Footwear: You’ll be on the lawn, so please skip the stilettos! Block heels, wedges, or dressy flats will keep you from sinking into the grass. For the Gentlemen Style Options: A suit (navy or slate looks great!), or a sport coat paired with chinos is perfect. Level of Formality: No tie is required unless you'd like to wear one! A light blue button-down with a navy blazer is a classic garden look. Fabric Choice: Lightweight wool blends or cotton will keep you comfortable in the Mississippi humidity. Comfort & Care Allergy-Friendly Seating: If you have a hay allergy, don't worry! We will have a dedicated area with traditional chair seating located away from the hay bales so you can celebrate sneeze-free. Evening Layers: Mississippi Octobers can be a wild card. We recommend bringing a light wrap, shawl, or jacket, as it can get chilly once the sun goes down. Inclement Weather Plan Should the weather decide not to cooperate, the reception will be moved indoors to the Church Hall (the same location as the ceremony). We will celebrate rain or shine!
The reception will start an hour after the wedding ends to give the bride and groom time for pictures. This will also be a time for the family to get photographed with the bride and groom. Spend that hour socializing at the reception site or whatever you would like to do until 5pm. The reception will be in a barn and outside the barn. A bonfire area will be available for s'mores!
