Nakisha and Tom met in November 2022 when he was assigned as a new Sergeant in the 108th precinct. Nakisha left the 108th in January 2023 and they stayed in touch. The more they talked the more they wanted to know about each other. In April 2023, they became a couple and quickly fell in love. The next month they met each other's families. They knew right away they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. In December 2023, they purchased their first home together. On December 25th, 2023, Tom asked Nakisha to marry him.
