Fantastic little restaurant right next to a gas station. Don't knock it till you try it. Definitely humble on the outside with big flavor on the inside!!
If your feeling like you want some sushi, here is the place. Although a little pricey, you can save a little with a call ahead order and pickup to go at the door.
This has a ferry out to the island but it will be busy so plan ahead and make sure you can get back on time. The ferrys run on time and will not wait for you. If you miss the last ferry, prepare to camp out on the island. WIIILLSOOONN!!!!

There are technically four ways to reach Bear Island, and here’s a breakdown of them, from easiest to the most DIY of all: The State Park Bear Island Ferry runs from April through October and leaves from the Hammocks Beach State Park mainland entrance. Fees range from $4 for Children (ages 3 to 12) and Senior Citizens (ages 62 and older) to $6 for Adults. A North Carolina State Parks Annual Pass ($90) covers ferry rides for up to six people.
