Cocktail attire is a semi-formal dress code that sits between business casual and black tie. It's a step up from casual wear but not as formal as a tuxedo or floor-length gown. For men, this generally means a suit and tie, while women can opt for a knee-length or midi dress, or a stylish suit. Here's a more detailed breakdown: For Men: Suit: A suit is the foundation of cocktail attire. Shirt: A dress shirt, typically in a solid color or subtle pattern. Tie: A tie is usually required but can be optional for a more relaxed look Shoes: Dress shoes, such as Oxfords or loafers For Women: Dress: A knee-length or midi dress is a classic choice, and a jumpsuit can also be appropriate. Color: Rich colors or sophisticated neutrals are good choices. Shoes: Dressy heels or stylish flats are appropriate.
