You know how people say it was love at first sight when they find "The One?" Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for us. Jeffery and I met during our sophomore year at Middle Tennessee State University. We lived in the same dormitory, and I happened to be friends with Jeffery's roommate. Like any great love story, ours starts with a clueless boy and a subway sandwich. Again, just joking. After a late night of studying, I asked his roommate to escort me to the Subway on campus. Jeffery happened to be hanging out nearby with a group of friends. There are two things you should know about my husband to be: He’s a romantic and when he wants something he not only goes after it, he goes all out. Sadly, the latter is the only quality I saw the night we met. Not only did this man invite himself on my late night snack run, he also had his whole crew tag along. I thought that he was so handsome, but he paid me no mind. Like I said, he was clueless. After a couple of weeks, there was a campus game night where we connected due to our love for old school and 90’s R&B music. Eventually, he asked me out on a date. This next part is finally where the romantic side comes in. While on our way to the restaurant Jeffery asked me to reach under my seat for his CDs. Instead, I found a single rose underneath. At that moment I knew he was different. Overtime we have become each other’s best friend and number one cheerleader. Now fast forward hundreds of dates, graduation, two cross country moves, and one amazing engagement later, we are finally tying the knot.
