Where should I stay?

Answer

The wedding venue is in New Giza, west of Cairo, near the pyramids. We recommend you staying on that side of town for ease of transportation. Or near/in Downtown Cairo. Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Cairo International Airport and Sphinx International Airport (this is closer to the venue but has less flight options)

Should I arrange airport transportation in advance?

Answer

Most hotels offer an airport shuttle service, which is the recommended / easiest option. Or if you're on roaming with data, or you purchased an Egyptian SIM card at the airport with data, your second best bet is to call an Uber. Do not fall for scammers outside the airport.

Do we need a visa to enter the country?

Answer

US and EU citizens are able to get a free visa upon arrival. For other nationalities, please check online or reach out to us directly and we will be able to help.

What currency is used and can I use a credit card?

Answer

The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Credit cards are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and larger venues you’ll be visiting. That said, we recommend carrying some cash for smaller shops, tips, or just in case.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Cairo is pretty hot this time of year. The wedding will be indoors.
