The wedding venue is in New Giza, west of Cairo, near the pyramids. We recommend you staying on that side of town for ease of transportation. Or near/in Downtown Cairo. Below are some recommended hotels, in order of distance from the wedding venue (ish): - Hyatt Regency West Cairo (wedding venue) - Marriott Mena House - Giza Palace - Crowne Plaza Arkan - Steigenberger Cairo Pyramids - Novotel Cairo 6th of October - Hilton Pyramids Golf - Movenpick Cairo Media City - Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezeira - Novotel Cairo El Borg - Four Seasons Nile Plaza - The Nile Ritz-Carelton Cairo - InterContinental Cairo Semiramis - Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir Cairo - Kempinski Nile Hotel If you choose to stay at the wedding venue, which we would highly recommend (but no pressure), we have a group discount rate for the night before and the night of the wedding (July 30th to August 1st). Please use this link to book your room: https://www.hyatt.com/events/en-US/group-booking/HBERC/G-EDWR If you're planning on staying longer at the hotel, make a separate reservation and the hotel will be able to merge both together at check-in, as long as they're both the same room type.
Cairo International Airport and Sphinx International Airport (this is closer to the venue but has less flight options)
Most hotels offer an airport shuttle service, which is the recommended / easiest option. Or if you're on roaming with data, or you purchased an Egyptian SIM card at the airport with data, your second best bet is to call an Uber. Do not fall for scammers outside the airport.
Uber.
US and EU citizens are able to get a free visa upon arrival. For other nationalities, please check online or reach out to us directly and we will be able to help.
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). Credit cards are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and larger venues you’ll be visiting. That said, we recommend carrying some cash for smaller shops, tips, or just in case.
Cairo is pretty hot this time of year. The wedding will be indoors.
